The first consists of our leisure facilities. We’re totally tennis-centric at the Hampshire Court, with 5 indoor and 3 outdoor French soft clay tennis courts. That’s quite a lot in any player’s book, and 32 guests can all play simultaneously. (If you’ve got that many close friends, bring them for a tournament.)
So we don’t show too much favouritism to le jeu de paume, we’ve also gone to town on our leisure club, with an adults only pool, a fun pool, an exercise studio, a fully-equipped gym and a spa (for a bit of aaahhhh).
One of our courts, however, has been transformed into that other extreme we were talking about; a tranquil, peaceful, spiritually soothing Japanese courtyard garden. Here, you can sit in peace, read a paper, sip a freshly made smoothie and find yourself (or, indeed, lose yourself) amidst the bamboo.
There’s more relaxation to be had in the spa, lazing in the steam room and having a holistic massage from one of our oh-so-talented therapists. You’ll also find it camping out in your bedroom, lingering in the plumptious pillows and fluffiest of robes. And if it’s total indulgence you’re after, then put your appetite in the capable hands of our chefs in the Restaurant or Terrace Brasserie. Actions speak louder than words in both, and judging by the number of scraped-clean plates we take back to the kitchen, they’re pretty good.
All in all, the Hampshire Court takes you on a journey, from the mundane, up in to high adrenalin on the courts, through oriental serenity, into well-fed satisfaction and all the way up to bed.
